CHARLES SHARPE, CHANCELLOR
Charlie Sharpe was born and raised on a farm in Northern Missouri. He became a Christian in 1947, and in 1964 founded Ozark National Life Insurance Company. He experienced joys and sorrows in the ensuing years, but the love of Jesus Christ remains his cornerstone. Today Pastor Charlie lives in the Heartland community with his wife, Laurie. He is the founder of the Heartland Community and the pastor of Heartland Academy Community Church. The community also encompasses CNS International Ministries, Inc., Sharpe Holdings, and Heartland Christian College. Pastor Charlie is invaluable as a source of guidance to the leadership of the College and is a significant source of spiritual guidance to the campus.
KRIS PALMER, PRESIDENT
Kris is a graduate of Liberty Theological Seminary and holds a Master of Arts in Religion, with an emphasis in Biblical Studies. He has served many years as a church leader, a teacher, and an educational administrator. Kris has been a part of HCC since its inception, and has filled a variety of roles, both in teaching and administration. His passion for the educational process and his love of learning provide both vision and direction for the College. He and his wife, Martha, are the parents of four children and a growing number of grandchildren.
DAVID BARTON, DEAN OF STUDENTS / DEAN OF ADMINISTRATION
Dave is currently completing a Master of Ministry program at Temple Baptist Seminary, with an emphasis on missions. He has had a long-standing relationship with HCC, helping with student development and administration both in an informal and formal capacity. His many years of church leadership and current work in Heartland missions have developed a love for young people and a desire for excellence within the Kingdom of God.
MARTHA PALMER, ACADEMIC DEAN
Martha is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a Masters in Education in curriculum development and design. With a foundation of many years of teaching and administration in both public and private educational settings, she brings a depth of experience to HCC’s academic program. Martha is passionate to see dynamic teachers raised up who will serve the coming generations.
