| Can someone visit campus? Yes! We welcome you to visit our campus. Tours can be set up for you by calling (660) 284-4800. HCC hosts students to our annual College Days weekend where we set aside several days to have potential students stay in the dorms, tour the campus and meet the faculty.
Where is HCC located? Heartland Christian College is located in the Heartland Community, a city of refuge located four miles south of Newark, Missouri, surrounded by rolling hills and family farms. The community includes Heartland Academy Community Church, Heartland Christian Academy, the Ozark Lodge and Steakhouse, the Solid Rock Café, New Creation Country Store, Calvary Medical Center, and the Heartland Recovery Programs, along with several other departments of ministry and service. The pastoral setting and commitment to excellence minimize distractions and make the Heartland community a peaceful place to find God. What is your teacher/student ratio? Each semester, the enrollment of students to staff is approximately 3-4 to 1.
Can I transfer credits? HCC students who wish to transfer course credit to HCC from another institution of higher education are encouraged to submit the following information for review by the Academic Team: course description and outline, number of classroom instruction hours, number of credit hours to be considered, and list of books or other curriculum utilized in the course. No high school courses will be considered for transfer credits.
How much are tuition, fees, room and board? HCC operates on a two-semester basis. The tuition, fees, and room and board per semester are approximately $1100. Books and supplies required are an additional expense.
What type of financial aid or scholarships are available? At this time we do not offer financial aid or scholarships. However, HCC purposely keeps the cost of schooling as low as possible so it is affordable to most students who work approximately 20 hours per week.
Can I work to pay my bill? First year full-time students are permitted to work up to 25 hours per week. Second year students may work more hours upon prior approval. In addition to these job opportunities, a work-study loan is available to full-time students. students may take out a loan eachyear, and the loan may be paid back by full time work at Heartland following graduation from HCC. Loan applications and details are available from the business office.
Are you accredited? HCC is affiliated with the Association for Biblical Higher Education, but is not accredited. We are, however, in the process of preparing for the application process.
What are your admission requirements? Students wishing to enroll in HCC must have successfully completed high school or the high school equivalency examination (GED), submit a completed application, have an interview with a member of the Academic Team, have approval of the Admissions Committee, and parental approval if under the age of 18.
